Aniela Parys Eden Knickers
MY STORY: At this point in my life, I can say that I am the most comfortable in my body than I ever have been before. This isn’t to say that I don’t feel embarrassed here and there and that there isn’t room for improvement, but I have grown past so much of what I used to be scared of. In the past, I feared what others thought about me and my imperfections - both physically and the way I expressed myself. It was easy to focus on what others thought and fear their judgement, but I came to learn that this was a result of focusing too much on myself and allowing it to get in my head. After realizing this, I started to and am learning to do the right thing and love others regardless of who is or isn’t watching. I no longer want to put all the focus on myself, but instead on people who need it.
ANIELA PARYS' STORY: Aniela Parys started her brand focusing on sustainability, slow fashion, and artist collaborations in Portland, Oregon. She did everything from making and photographing the clothes to communicating to all her customers. Now that she is based in Barcelona, her pieces are either handmade in her studio or in local family-run factories, which allows her to oversee each step of production. Aniela makes sure to consider the materials, dyeing, and transportation process before selecting it. Each collection uses deadstock fabrics as well as new materials such as organic cotton, linen, and recycled fibers. After my recent heat rash experience, I am excited to be trying organic cotton intimates.
